AstroMatch Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data the AstroMatch app (the "App") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. The App is operated by Eurekapps ("we", "us"). Contact: info@astromatch.app.
1. Data we collect
### Account and sign-in
- Phone number or Google account email (for authentication).
- A Firebase Auth user ID (random, opaque).
### Profile data you publish
- Display name, bio, and tags you select.
- Photos you upload to your profile.
- Birth date, birth time, and birthplace — used to generate your natal chart. Birth time is never displayed publicly on your profile; only you and our chart engine see it.
### Activity data
- Likes, passes, and matches you create.
- Chat messages you send to matches (stored end-to-server in Firestore — not end-to-end encrypted).
- Verification requests you submit, with their review status.
- Reports and blocks you submit.
### Device and technical data
- Device language and locale (to display the right localised copy).
- Push-notification token (only when you grant the permission).
- Diagnostic logs (crashes, errors, latencies) that may include the user ID but no message content.
### In-app analytics (first-party)
We operate our own in-app analytics to understand how the App is used and to improve it. We do not use Google Analytics or other third-party advertising/analytics SDKs.
- What we record: product events such as opening the app, viewing a screen or a piece of content (e.g. a horoscope), receiving or opening a notification, sending a like, creating a match, viewing the subscription screen, and changing the app language. Each event may include your user ID, the event type, the screen or content identifier, your app language, your approximate country (derived from your profile or device locale — not precise GPS), your platform (Android/iOS/web), the app version, and a per-session identifier.
- No precise location. We do not collect GPS or fine-grained location for analytics. We never store latitude/longitude in analytics.
- Purpose only: these events are used solely to operate and improve the App — never for advertising and never to train third-party AI models.
- Access: raw analytics events are accessible to our administrators only; day-to-day reporting uses aggregated daily summaries.
- Test profiles excluded. Any internal synthetic/test profiles we may use for quality assurance are clearly marked internally and are excluded from analytics by default; they are not real users.
### Subscription data
- Apple App Store or Google Play subscription status, product ID, expiry date, and renewal flags. We do not store payment-card details — those stay with Apple or Google.
2. How we use your data
- Match you with other users using astrology-based compatibility.
- Operate the discovery, matches, chat, and verification flows.
- Power push notifications for matches, chat, weekly horoscopes, and relationship suggestions (only with consent).
- Detect and respond to abuse via moderation tooling.
- Handle subscriptions, refunds, and billing inquiries.
- Analyse usage through our own first-party analytics (see "In-app analytics" above) — raw events are admin-only and day-to-day reporting uses aggregated daily summaries — to improve the App. We do not use your profile or chats for advertising or to train third-party AI models, and we collect no precise location for analytics.
AI-assisted content. Some editorial content we publish — weekly horoscopes and relationship/compatibility suggestions — may be drafted with the help of AI tools and then reviewed and edited by people before publication. This content is astrology-as-entertainment and general in nature; it is not personalized professional advice. We do not feed your private profile data or chats into these tools to generate it.
3. Lawful basis (EEA / UK)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on:
- Performance of a contract for matching, chat, and account features.
- Consent for push notifications and any optional analytics.
- Legitimate interests for safety, fraud prevention, and service operation, balanced against your rights.
You may withdraw consent at any time in the App's Settings or by emailing info@astromatch.app.
4. Sharing
- Other users: your public profile (name, bio, photos, tags, zodiac signs, last-seen presence) is visible to other adults using the App. Birth time is never shared.
- Service providers: Google Firebase (Auth, Firestore, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging, Crashlytics), Apple App Store, Google Play, and our cloud-storage provider for media. Each acts as a processor under our written contract.
- Law enforcement: only when required by valid legal process.
- Business transfers: if Eurekapps is acquired or merged, your data may transfer subject to this policy.
We never sell your personal data, and we do not run third-party advertising inside the App.
5. Data retention
- Active accounts: data retained while the account is active.
- Deleted accounts: profile, photos, matches, and chats are queued for deletion within 30 days of you tapping "Delete account" in Settings. Some moderation logs are retained longer when required to enforce community guidelines.
- Backups: routine encrypted backups may retain residual copies for up to 90 days before being overwritten.
- Analytics: raw first-party analytics events are retained for a limited period (by default 90 days) and then automatically deleted; only the aggregated, non-identifying daily summaries are kept longer for trend analysis.
- Referral and promotional records: when you take part in a referral or promotional offer we keep a record of the reward for accounting and anti-fraud purposes. Account identifiers in these records are replaced with a non-reversible pseudonym after 30 days, and the records are deleted after 13 months. If you delete your account, identifiers linking these records to you are replaced immediately.
6. Your rights
Subject to local law, you can:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct or update inaccurate data (most fields are editable in the App's Profile screen).
- Delete your account and associated data via Settings → Account.
- Withdraw consent for notifications.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

7. Children
The App is 18+ only. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe we have collected data from a minor, contact us and we will delete the account.
8. International transfers
Firebase processes data in regions controlled by Google. Where data is transferred outside your country, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards required by applicable law.
9. Security
We use Firebase's encryption at rest and in transit, and limit production access to Eurekapps engineers under audited credentials. No service is perfectly secure; you are responsible for keeping your sign-in method (phone, Google account) under your control.
10. Changes to this policy
We will notify you in-app if we make material changes to this policy and update the "Effective" date above.
